We now have a few last-minute places available at the CRISP Doctoral School, which occurs on 16th-20th June 2025 at the University of Stirling in Scotland.
We are very keen to have those places filled so PhD students can take part in the exciting programme of training and activities we have planned for the week.

The fee for participation for the week is £400 (which includes tuition fees, field trip, refreshments, lunches, and some evening meals) and there is accommodation available at the University of Stirling that you can book too.

About the CRISP Doctoral School
The School takes place at the University of Stirling from the 16th – 20th June 2025. It features five days of intensive training in multi-disciplinary research methods and skills in the field of Surveillance Studies. It will also feature a range of knowledge-exchange and research-training activities, as well as providing social and networking opportunities.
The school will be delivered via a range of interactive lectures and workshops and will be facilitated by leading surveillance scholars. Students will have the opportunity to apply this training to their own doctoral research and to learn transferable research skills. Scheduled session topics include:
- state-of-the-art lectures by leading surveillance scholars;
- research skills workshops;
- working within and between disciplines;
- publishing in top ranked journals;
- techniques for securing research funding;
- working with the media, activitists and other non-academic partners
You will need to complete our online Application Form, and enter your name, contact details, institutional affiliation along with a 250 word supporting statement. The statement should explain your research topic and interest in the school.
The fee for participation is £400. This covers all tuition fees, field trip, refreshments, lunches and some evening meals.
Accommodation will be available on the University of Stirling campus but participants must fund this themselves. Prospective participants are advised to investigate their funding options before applying.
Accommodation Update: We have secured accommodation on Campus at the University of Stirling in one of the newly refurbished Halls of Residence. They are private rooms, with en-suite facilities and communal living areas. Rooms are available at a preferential rate of £68 per night, bed and breakfast. Details about this will be shared upon your application being accepted.
