The Fourth CRISP Doctoral Training School

CRISP is proud to announce the dates for its fourth biannual Doctoral Training School. The School takes place at the University of St Andrews from Monday 18– Friday 22 June 2018. The School will feature five days of intensive training in multi-disciplinary research methods and skills in the field of Surveillance Studies. It will also feature a range of knowledge-exchange and research-training activities, as well as providing social and networking opportunities.

The school will be delivered via a range of interactive lectures and workshops and will be facilitated by leading surveillance scholars. Students will have the opportunity to apply this training to their own doctoral research and to learn transferable research skills. Scheduled session topics include:

state-of-the-art lectures by leading surveillance scholars;
research skills workshops;
working within and between disciplines;
publishing in top ranked journals;
techniques for securing research funding;
working with the media;

Applications will open on January 8th 2018.  The closing date for applications is Friday 23rd March 2016. We will inform applicants whether their application has been successful by Friday 6th April. 

The fee for participation is £300. This covers all tuition fees, field trip, refreshments, lunches and some evening meals. Accommodation will be available at the Agnes Blackadder Halls of Residence but participants must fund this themselves. Prospective participants are advised to investigate their funding options before applying.
